Lakka

Partly because of the weather but mainly because it is such a lovely place, we stayed in Lakka for several days. The weather was mixed but mainly blowing southerlies so not good for getting down to Preveza. When the weather was fine we went on several walks from the village.

Spring is, of course, the best time for the wild flowers and these pictures were taken when I walked inland from the village.

I didn't realise until I zoomed in on this picture that I had caught the raindrops sitting on the petal.

We have tried pickling lemons in salt and lemon juice but need to wait a couple of months to see what they are like.

A rather grey, wet day in Lakka!

Glad of our spray hood and winter enclosure.......again!!

Back to sunnier weather and the chance to walk around the bay, looking back to Lakka village.

The footpath seems to disappear at this point but did eventually come out along the headland............

.........to this beautiful, secluded cove.

Another walk took us round the opposite side of the bay. The dab of red paint marks the footpath that drops off the rock at this point, continues along the coastline and then back through the woods to the village.

We walked up over the top from Lakka and down into the next village of Longos. A much needed beer on the seafront when we got there!

Longos is a lovely, sleepy village with typical painted houses, one shop and a few bars.

The main street of Longos.

Back in Lakka and we are joined by a new friend for lunch!

Wash day in Lakka.
Nearly had a disaster the other day when I was doing the washing in a bucket on the quay and didn't realise there was still some underwear in the bottom when I tipped the water out into the sea! Luckily two little girls off another boat were there with a fishing net so I was able to rescue the washing!
