After the Easter celebrations we had to go back to Gouvia to collect our Turkish gas bottle that we use for the BBQ. We had left it at the marine store to be sent away to be filled. We spent a few days in Kommena bay before sailing across to Sivota on the mainland.
We anchored in Monastery Bay - only boat in there and had some fairly unpleasant weather. As the forecast was not looking good, we decided to move into the harbour in Sivota.
Glad we moved into the harbour with this weather coming in.
The weather is not always bright and sunny in Greece!
We were very pleased to have our winter enclosures to put up in the cockpit.
A rather grey and gloomy outlook!
That's better! Until the next thunderstorm later on.
Typical Greek lunch - pita gyros.
Pork sliced off a kebab, chips, tomato, onion and taziki all wrapped up in a pitta bread for 2euros!
A sunny corner of Sivota town
Olive grove on my walk up from the harbour.
From Sivota we sailed across to Lakka on the small island of Paxos. This is the view from one of our walks looking back into the bay.
Studies of seagulls in flight
While anchored in the bay, I had fun practising with my camera when some very obliging (and hungry) seagulls came by.
A few stale croissants seemed to be a good feast for one...........
...........then a few more..........
........... and then the word got round and lots came!
Looking out of the bay across to the mainland.
Again the forecast was predicting bad weather in a few days so we moved onto the quay and took advantage of the nice weather prior to that, to go for a walk around the bay to the headland.
Looking down to the amazing coloured water.
Lovely walk in dappled sunshine but still chilly breeze.
Back down to the village under the hibiscus arch.
