Antalya

ANOTHER DAY TRIP WITH FRANK & LIN

Frank & Lin in the main square in Antalya - statue and photo of Attaturk in the background. The town is getting ready for Republic Day celebrations the next day - 91 years since Attaturk created the country of Turkey. Every shop and office should have a copy of his photo on display.

Lunch in the garden in the old town above the bazaar.

Hadrian's Gate - named after the Roman Emperor who passed through the entrance when he visited the town in 130BC. It has been well restored and apparently the Queen of Sheba also came through here.

Detail of lion's head carving on part or the restored facade.

Rather rickety balconies in the old town.

Walking through the old town - typical Turkish carpet shops and borganvilia.

Drink stop before leaving - evening light across the bay from the old town.
